Ken grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and joined our team in July 2021 after serving as a pastor for almost thirty years around the Midwest. He holds undergraduate and masters degrees from Indiana Wesleyan, which also happens to be the place where he met the love of his life, Karen (a NICE Karen!). One look from Ken and she was smitten, right? Nope, not true; he had to work HARD to get her attention!
Ken & Karen have been married since 1992, and have two adult sons, an amazing daughter-in-law, and two of the cutest granddaughters on the planet! Ken thought he was saving for retirement, but turns out when little girls call him “Papa” two things happen – his heart expands and his wallet opens!
Anything in common with Dean?
Strangely enough, when Ken and Dean first met they discovered multiple similarities: Both married nurses, both have sons that served in the Marines (on the same base for a season), both are left-handed, both have the same birthday (different year; Ken’s younger); both have moms named Shirley. They’re not related, but that’s CRAZY, right?
In his spare time Ken enjoys listening to music, watching a good movie, and cheering for his favorite teams – Michigan Football, the Buffalo Bills, the Detroit Red Wings, the Atlanta Braves, and (very recently) the Indiana Pacers.
Ken is a Christ-follower who attends Connection Pointe Church, and one of his favorite verses from God’s Word is Proverbs 18:24 – “A man of many acquaintances will come to ruin, but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.”
